SADLER’S WELLS LILIAN BAYLIS THEATRE - EMBODY

EmBODY is a sensory story inspired by working closely with the participant of my case study and her personal experience with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), which includes a heightened sensory perception. It follows the participant's daily lived experiences, challenges and struggles with over-responsive behaviours presented by her senses: auditory (sense of hearing), tactile (sense of touch), oral (sense of taste), olfactory (sense of smell) and visual (sense of sight).

The performance establishes the participant's four personal zones of regulation, which inspire and inform both the design & development of costume and stage props. The four zones of regulation are characterised by distinct sensory triggers that influence an array of feelings and states of emotion.
